He has logged over 40,000 miles at sea, from Maine to the Caribbean and into the Mediterranean on windjammers, square rig ships and magnificent classic yachts. Sean returned to Camden in 1998 with Schooner Lazy Jack to add to the existing fleet of tall ships and to share the bounty of his journeys.
Sean O’Connor is the Captain, owner and builder of Schooner Lazy Jack II. He has been sailing from Camden Harbor for more than 30 years. He is licensed through the U.S. Coast Guard and is an experienced blue water sailor.
In 2003 he undertook building a new schooner, Lazy Jack II — the only schooner in Camden built by her owner. She was launched in September of 2004. Sean will share the history and stories of Camden and Penobscot Bay and the seas beyond as you relax and enjoy the views.
